As one of the leading awards manufacturers in the UK, we produce a lot of high profile television awards that inevitably end up in the hand of celebrities. At Gaudio HQ we see a lot of the same names appearing over and over to the point where certain celebs have more of our awards on their shelves than we do in our showroom! To settle a few wagers in the office, here is the official top 10:
Robin Van Persie, 8 Awards
Van Persie became Arsenal’s 8th all-time top scorer during his 8 years at the club, culminating with 30 goals in the in the 2011-12 season. As the official supplier of the Arsenal player of the month and player of the season awards, Van Persie now has a cabinet full of Gaudio made awards.
One Direction, 4 Awards
Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis burst onto the music scene in 2012 after forming on X Factor as One Direction. Since then the band have gone on to collectively receive 4 Gaudio awards, including a prestigious Silver Clef award and a “best hair in pop” award for Harry Styles.
Jack Wilshere, 3 Awards
At the age of 16, Jack Wilshere made his first team debut, making him Arsenal’s youngest ever league debutant. In his short career so far Wilshere has received the PFA Young Player of the Year, and in his first full season (2010-2011) he was voted Arsenal Player of the Year by the fans.
Jessie J, 3 Awards
The Voice UK coach, Jessie J has sold over 11 million singles and 2.5 million albums worldwide (as of April 2012) since releasing her debut single “Do It Like a Dude” in 2010. The “Price Tag” singer has received many awards since then, including 3 from Gaudio, one of which (BBC Switch Award) was one of her first.
Colin Montgomerie, 2 Awards
Monty is one of Scotland’s all-time greatest sportsmen, and the recipient of 2 Gaudio awards. His most recent award (Scottish Sports Award 2010, Manager of the Year) came after he lead the European Ryder cup team to victory over the USA at Celtic Manor.
Emile Sandé, 2 Awards
Singer/songwriter Emile Sandé performed at both the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the London Olympics and has 2 UK number one singles to her name. In 2012 Emile was given her second Gaudio award, a prestigious Silver Clef Award.
JLS, 2 Awards
Once the golden boys of pop, the JLS boys have now been topped in the Gaudio League by arch rivals One Direction. JLS’s first Gaudio award, the BBC Switch Award, came shortly after the end of the X Factor.
Kylie Minogue, 2 Awards
The Princess of Pop, Kylie Minogue, won one of our early awards, the Capital Radio Awards in 2008. Recently Kylie tearfully picked up her second Gaudio award to commemorate 25 years of service to the music industry.
Rihanna, 2 Awards
The Barbadian Beauty is part of the elite club of multiple Gaudio award winners. After picking up a Capital Radio award in 2008, she has become the highest-selling digital artist in US history. In 2012 Rihanna was awarded with the Best International Act at the Silver Clef Awards.
Tinie Tempah, 2 Awards
Tinie’s debut album Disc-Overy reached number one in October 2010, winning him a Brit Award in 2011. His Brit sits proudly alongside his 2 Gaudio awards which earns him 10th place in the Gaudio top 10.
