In Depth: Profiled Awards

If you have an iconic or distinctive shape, logo or branding that you are looking to portray in your trophies then Profiled Awards are for you! Our design team will take your branding and profile it in two dimensions in aluminium, stainless steel, acrylic or brass and then add colour using acrylic or print and finally text and other detail can be added using sand or laser engraving. Below are some example of how profiled awards have been used:

The Gala Performance Awards, celebrating achievements in Gaelic Football, are an excellent example of a very simple, but striking profiled award. The iconic "G" has been profiled from 20mm thick aluminium, polished and printed in the green Pantone used in all their branding. This thin layer of print applies the colour that the client needed, but still allows the polished to shine through giving a fantastic, prestigious quality finish.

 

Genting Poker approached us for a trophy to give to the winner of their Poker Players Championship, with the brief that the award must give a focal point for the branding which can be used in all their marketing material. The minute we saw the logo we knew it had to be a profiled award! The elegant representation of the logo creates a stunning award which the client was delighted with, and the Poker Players were desperate to get hold of!

The Aviva Athletics awards are a great example of how an iconic shape has lead the design process rather than a logo. Theses awards were given to athletes to recognise their efforts and achievements over the last year. Because of the multiple sponsor logos which needed to be given equal weighting it was not possible to profile either brand, so our design team profiled a range of athletic imagery and vest-top was chosen. The awards a manufactured from a layer of profiled aluminium (representing the body), and a layer of profiled glass-effect acrylic with print to show the vest.

One of our favourite profiled trophies in the Gaudio office is the Screen Marketing and Distribution Awards for the film industry. Our designers have taken the branding, logo and theme and developed it into a stunning award that enhances the brand and immediately communicates the event purpose and prestige. The trophy is manufactured from layered and profiled polished aluminium with sand engraved detail, giving it a classic and timeless look.
