The stars of retail Jewellery were recognised with a coveted UK Jewellery Award at this year's gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane in London on 15 July, 2010.
The 2010 Jewellery Awards opened with the Retail Jeweller editor-in-chief, Jenni Middleton welcoming the top in Retail Jewellery with a heartfelt speech, saying that the jewellery industry was the only sector she could think of where people had real emotional attachment to the products. She applauded retailers and designers for their hard work all year round and said that this year the judging process had to be overhauled to be more rigorous and reflect the higher standards in the industry.
The glamorous awards are constructed from solid aluminium with a mirror polished finish, and detailed with fine engraving and 42 Swarovski crystals.
As the lights went down for the awards presentation, TV personality Claudia Winkleman, took to the stage to announce the finalists and very deserving winners. A catwalk showed five of the categories shortlists in glittering reality; with jewels, watches, bracelets, necklaces and silver and gold glinting in front of the audience.
